Welcome to the Program on Memory Longevity at the Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute
About Us
The Losonczy Lab is now part of the O’Donnell Brain Institute at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where Professor Attila Losonczy directs the newly established Program on Memory Longevity.
Take a deeper dive into Program
-
Our research investigates the neural dynamics underlying learning and memory in the mouse hippocampus as a model system. In addition to uncovering fundamental circuit-level mechanisms, we are particularly interested in how these processes are shaped by aging and how they contribute to memory resilience across the lifespan. By combining cutting-edge imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral approaches, we aim to advance understanding of memory function and its vulnerabilities.
-
We have extensive publications about our research available.
-
We are actively recruiting at multiple levels — from research technicians to postdoctoral fellows. In addition, the Program on Memory Longevity has faculty openings at the Assistant Professor level.
